Growing up, like many, I found it very difficult to decide the right career path for me. I was fortunate enough to attend a great school which provided me with an extensive education which I am very grateful for. However, I have always been more of a “hands-on” person rather than an academic, and it seemed very difficult to find career advice that didn’t involve a university degree, so I took it upon myself to leave prematurely.

Upon entering the “real” world, I was still clueless as to my future but knew I wanted to be in a people-based industry. I decided to apply for many different customer-facing roles but was continuously turned down due to ‘lack of experience’. I was finally given an opportunity in a direct marketing company. Over the next 3 and a half years through nothing but hard-work, discipline and persistence I was able to harness the necessary skill set, grow knowledge of the industry and develop the thorough business acumen needed to build my own company – Profuse Marketing. My goal moving forward is to give other people (experienced or otherwise) the exact same opportunity that I am grateful for.

The world is now in a time of rapid technological advancements, and consumers are bombarded more than ever with huge amounts of advertisements and promotions everywhere they look – desensitising them to the message the advert is wanting to convey and completely defeating the objective of that advert in the first place! More and more business are starting to realise that the power of human contact, relationship building and high-quality customer service, is something that no form of technology can compete with – and that’s where we come in. We ignite long lasting relationships between our customers and clients to help them achieve their goals.

After completing my first year at Sixth Form, I realised full time work was my
next step after studying my GCSE’s. I noticed I was more of a kinaesthetic learner,
so classroom learning wasn’t my strong point, and caused me to become
distracted. I then decided to look into starting my career in full-time work, as I
knew the work place would be extremely different, where I could work, earn,
and learn all at the same time.

I started full time work at 17, and was very lucky to start working within a
hugely known building society, however, after less than a year I came to realise
that particular area wasn’t where I wanted to start my career. So decided to leave.
I then began a career in sales within an insurance company. Within a
year I was promoted within my sales team into a managerial role, which
meant naturally I started taking on a lot more responsibility. Once I started to
understand the position, an opportunity came up to offer support to another
area of the business for 6 weeks. I leaped at the chance, as I wanted to further
develop my skills and also understand more about the business I was working
within. I ended up staying within that department offering support for a lot longer, which wasn’t what I had initially agreed to.

I then had a call from Jake, who explained in great detail everything about
Profuse Marketing! From what I can remember, it was a very exciting call. I
believe the key to success is positive thinking – this is exactly what Profuse is all
about. I had become so motivated by not only the business structure and where
it was headed, but also the development and networking which was included.
After much consideration, I started working within Profuse and I have had so much fun, as well as learnt a lot about the business sector as a whole.

After a year of being here I have travelled immensely, including trips to Malta and Cyprus,
and had the opportunity to network with some incredible people. Profuse has
helped me gain so much more confidence, as well as made me a much more
positive person!

Originally from London, I started in the industry whilst I was still completing a business degree at Bournemouth University. Initially, it was just to give me some practical experience alongside my course. Since my recent graduation, I now realise how many important skill sets I have developed. Profuse has helped me to develop interpersonal skills, better communication and public speaking skills.
The professional development provided by Profuse is tailored to fit my needs. I love the fact that I can get expert coaching specific to whatever it is I want to learn.
I am excited to see what the future holds for me within the business!

The energy and camaraderie we share supports our journeys to personal and professional advancement.
